Joe Biden is serving his 6th term in the U.S. Senate. He was first elected to the Senate at the age of 30, the minimum age allowed by the Constitution. He is currently the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. In the past, he served as the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary.
Mr. Biden was a candidate for President during the 2008 primaries, but dropped out after the Iowa caucuses on January 3. He also unsuccessfully attempted to run for President in 1988.
During the 2008 primaries, he made a gaffe when he called "articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy". Some observers have suggested that the statement may have been racist, though most dismissed such criticism. David Storobin is a New York lawyer who received Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Rutgers University School of Law. His Master's Thesis (M.A. - Comparative Politics) deals with the historical causes for the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. He's been interviewed on radio and cited in books as a political expert.
