Home >> United States & Canada >> Race and Multiculturalism Email Print The Blitzkrieg in the Kulturkampf Western Civilization Faces Kyle Bristow - 5/21/2008 Our culture has been besieged by opponents of Western civilization who wish in the depths of their dark hearts to dismantle the greatest civilization that has ever existed on the face of the planet, to deny us of our destiny, and to do away with our liberties. What our people face now is akin to what the people of Poland faced on September 1, 1939. Though our civilization is not being destroyed through a calculated military assault, it is however being destroyed through a calculated political and cultural assault. If our civilization is to survive, patriots must rise up in its defense.
The universities of our country have been taken over by Marxists who indoctrinate their students with thoughts of utopia, deviancy, multiculturalism, and diversity. What the reeducation camps were to peasants of Russia and China, the contemporary universities are to the Western world. If a student rejects the left-wing orthodoxy on a college campus, they face “diversity training” or suspension or expulsion. At best, an outspoken defender of Western civilization will only have their grades lowered.
Not only students are subject to being required to subscribe to the Marxist ideology that is forced upon them by their professors, but the professors and administrators are obligated to march to its ugly tune as well. If they do not subscribe to the ideology of Marxism, they can be denied tenure, not be promoted, or even lose their jobs. At the University of Toledo, Crystal Dixon, the former associate vice president of human resources there, was suspended without pay for writing a letter-to-the-editor of an off-campus newspaper in which she declared that homosexuality is not a civil rights matter. According to Cybercast News Service in an article entitled “College Suspends Administrator for Op-Ed on Homosexuals” (5/12/08), “The school said the administrator was suspended precisely because her views on homosexuality do not comport with those of the university, a state institution.”
At Michigan State University, I served on student government until a horde of leftist students organized a successful recall election. On the very same day that I took part in a public debate over the issue of affirmative action with a candidate for state representative, the vote was held in which I was recalled by approximately 93 percent to 7 percent (225 voted to recall while 18 voted to allow me to remain). Why was I recalled? Because I proposed, among other things, that a United States flag be displayed in every room and lecture hall on campus, sex offenders living on campus be required to notify their neighbors of the threat to the community that they pose, and that since black students, Muslim students, international students, and homosexual students get automatic representation on student government, it would only be fair if white students, Christian students, nationalist students, and heterosexual students get automatic representation as well. This did not bode well with my leftist peers, so they removed me from the low-level elected position that I held. The leftists will allow no threat to their ideology to materialize. The seeds of discontent cannot be allowed to grow.
Why is it important to combat the stranglehold that cultural subversives have over our universities? In 1963, A. S. Herlong, Jr. testified before the United States Congress as to the goals that communists have to bring about their utopia. Among his list of goals (which have mostly since then come to fruition) was: “Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. ... Put the party line in textbooks.”
Repetition impresses the subconscious. Through four years of undergraduate “education” and hours upon hours of classroom indoctrination, students are churned out through these reeducation campus as Marxists who are taught to hate their culture, their civilization, their country, their heritage, and their people.
I will graduate in December with a degree in international relations from Michigan State University. I survived the gulag, because I took the time to read books that my professors would never assign in their classes. If it were not for international relations scholar (and nationalist) Samuel Huntington, Patrick Buchanan, Samuel Francis, and Hilaire Belloc, my mind would have been ruined by my leftist professors.
The front lines of the culture war are not between Islam and Western civilization, not between Mexico and the United States. For American societal security is established only through the will of our people. Regardless of what the neoconservatives say and think, a bunch of towel-wearing, camel-riding, cavemen 10,000 miles away do not pose a clear and present danger to our civilization. The professors at our universities are doing more damage to our country than al Qaeda ever has, is, or will do.
If Western civilization is to survive, Westerners must disregard the political correct muzzle that has been placed on them by enemies of our culture, must unite along civilizational lines and reject multiculturalism, and hunt down and kill the beast that is lurking in the shadows that plans to gorge itself on the ruins of our civilization. That beast is Marxism, albeit a cultural version rather than the economic version of the ideology that has plagued the world ever since Karl Marx wrote his substandard book that “progressives” view as some kind of perverse holy book.
Giving voice to our philosophy will allow us to defend our heritage, culture, civilization, country, and people. Through self-education by reading books that leftists would most likely secretly like to have banned for committing the cardinal sin of “hate speech,” we will be able to immunize ourselves from the disease of liberalism. Only when we lose the ideas that we hold dear in our hearts will be when Western civilization truly is defeated.
In Jean Raspail’s book The Camp of the Saints, Western civilization did not come to an end when immigrants from the Third World took over Europe. It was lost when the last Westerners who stood up to the foreign, invading culture were killed by the French Air Force. They, the Westerners in the book, fought to the bitter end, just as I believe Westerners will when the time comes to stand up to the multicultural, totalitarian, “progressive” behemoth that threatens the West.
That time is now.
Kyle Bristow was until recently the chairman of Young Americans for Freedom chapter of Michigan State University, which had become famous due to its lively and controversial meetings under his leadership.
