In the 1st May 2008 local elections Labor Party suffered their worst results in 40 years finishing in third place with a projected 24% share of the national vote. The New Labor era that started with Tony Blair’s arrival as UK premier ended miserably with Blair himself opting out of 10 Downing Street on account of corruption scandals and failed terror war.
